I got to finish lots of things Carl started.
I learned how to chip bricks to make a channel to insert the new steel lintel above the Second floor window. The previous owner/builder of my house tagged big M's for Mario Melaragni in all of the lintels he installed and concrete he poured. I think I'm gonna' use some nail polish! It's a little un-nerving making holes in your house...especially in January! The wall did not collapse and I was not crushed by the angle iron. My arms do feel like noodles from hammering and shoveling and I got a pretty fuschia colored contusion on my wrist from who knows what...
Carl has superior digging skills. We liked this job...very clear instructions.
No gray area involved in "dig me a hole...16'x32"x32"."
