Uncle Guido is away down South on a Nuclear expedition.
Carl and I have a few chores to tackle while he is away. One is demolishing the old appendage on the back of the house...but we need to store up some energy before we begin that.
Food as fuel has been an important part of the re-building. The Cherry Pork Chops were one keen experiment, but I think Carl won with une expérience gastronomique.
His Iron Chef idea...Morning Star vegetarian chicken nuggets over Stouffer's cream chipped beef. A version of chicken fried steak if you will. We will eat this again.
This past weekend, Carl managed to pour a nifty concrete cap on the brick wall on the second floor. He's getting really good at it. The whole project only took about 2-3 hours including a big clean up job. (Stupid brick dust.)
We were happy to accomplish this as we could now put some insulation up in the temporary bathroom. The wall is only plywood right now, making for pretty chilly showers.
I was even more pleased to have this completed last night because I've been practicing a little Voodoo to make it snow so we will have snow days and extra time to organize things around the house. This is my Voodoo Polar Bear. Nose rubbing makes the Philadelphia School District obey me and my wishes...and increases snow accumulation.
We are both back to working full time, usually at least 10 hour days or more...any extra time is a gift.
Works pretty good huh??? I have off today. Unfortunately my bear has no jurisdiction outside of city limits. The Head Master would not acquiesce and Carl had to go to work two hours late.
....must figure out how to increase Bear's power.....
